Je ne laisserai personne dire que c’est le plus bel âge de la vie. » Cette citation de Paul Nizan a longtemps été un sujet de réflexion au baccalauréat, quand celui-ci avait encore un peu de valeur. Kae Tempest se souvient, If you saw the younger you, what would you say to them ? et explose le « sac de honte ». Etre en paix avec soi même, avec les autres et surtout peut être dégager concorde, harmonie et confiance en soi pour mieux les répandre et enfin respirer. Kae explique à propos de Know Yourself, « ce qui est difficile, c’est d’être dans le placard, de vous cacher de vous-même, de mentir à vous-même, de vivre de la mort de soi et de pousser qui vous êtes jusqu’à présent que vous ne pouvez pas fonctionner à l’air libre. Être connecté à votre vrai moi est incroyablement beau ». Et il y a dans ce titre et ce clip une forme d’accomplissement qui fait du bien à tous.

Le cinquième album studio de Kae Tempest, Self Titled sortira le 4 juillet chez Island Records. Il sera co-produit par Fraser T Smith et Kae Tempest avec des collaborations de Neil Tennant, Tawiah, Connie Constance et Young Fathers.
